The Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) has introduced two academic journals to disseminate research and innovations to policymakers, contributing to national development.
These are the Journal of Technology Education and Applied Science (JTEAS) and the Journal of Applied Social Science & Entrepreneurship Education (JASSEE).
According to Prof Isaac Boateng, Pro Vice Chancellor of AAMUSTED, it is often challenging for academics, policy makers, and politicians to meet and share ideas for national development, which these journals aim to bridge.

"Most of the time, when research is completed, we either publish it in international journals that require payment for access or store it in our libraries, where politicians and policymakers cannot access it. These journals will create a free medium for sharing research findings," he explained.
He added that the journals will also help document the knowledge of artisans in technical and vocational fields to spearhead development.

"Many artisans with technical skills and knowledge often pass away, taking their expertise with them. These journals will help document this knowledge for future use," said Prof. Boateng.
The launch of the two journals at the Kumasi campus of AAMUSTED attracted government officials, lecturers from different universities, and students.
The Pro-Vice Chancellor seized the opportunity to seek government support, especially by providing financial assistance to researchers.
