Ghanaian defender Abdul Mumin played a pivotal role in Rayo Vallecano's league game against Real Madrid over the weekend.
The centre-back scored in the 3-3 draw in the Madrid derby at Vallecas to make it three unbeaten games across all competitions for Vallecano.
Vallecano opened the scoring for the home side after just four minutes when Unai Lopez headed into the net after being left unmarked in the penalty box.
Confidence grew among the Vallecano fans in the 36th minute when Isi Palazon teed up Mumin to double the lead.
The Black Stars defender saw his headed effort beat Thibaut Courtois from a position similar to Lopez's, making it 2-0.
The 2-0 lead lasted barely a minute as Federico Valverde scored with a trademark shot from outside the penalty box to reduce the deficit.
Jude Bellingham scored on the stroke from halftime to draw Madrid level against Vallecano. The goal was also the Englishman's sixth goal in his last six La Liga games.
Having assisted the equaliser before halftime, Rodrygo scored his fourth league goal of the season to put Madrid ahead in the 56th minute.
However, 26 minutes away from the full-time whistle, Isi had a touch on Florian Lejeune's cross into the box to make it 3-3.
Despite being part of a defence that conceded three goals, Mumin was one of the standout performers in the game.
His goal contribution now means he's recorded two goals and one assist in the 2024/25 beating his tally from last season.
