After six days of competitive gaming, socialization, seminars, and demos, the maiden edition of Accra Esports Week, Ghana’s biggest esports experience, will come to an awesome climax on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
The event starts from 4:00pm at the Food Court of Accra Mall, Ghana’s premium mall.
It will be the grand finals of some of the major games played throughout the week. The winners will take home over GHC20,000 in cash prizes and surprises.
Accra Esports Week started with a massive opening at the Esports Academy, Haatso, with top FIFA 23 players battling it out for a place in the grand finals in the Accra Esports Week edition of Conquest, Ghana’s most competitive esports event.

Mobile Games Championship, Ultimate Battle, Slam Dunk Championship, Velocity Championship, Teens Championship, Girls in Gaming, and Virtual Reality Challenge were among the competitions.
"Accra Mall always introduces new experiences to our shoppers and visitors. Accra Esports Week happens to be one of those unique events we believe our customers will find exciting and engaging. That is why we partnered with them to host the grand finals here," Mr. Anthony Asamoah, the marketing manager of Accra Mall said.
Yetra Esports Stadium, the newly opened premier esports stadium in Accra Mall, will host the Girls in Gaming tournament on the morning of Saturday before the grand finals at the Food Court. The all-female event will feature FIFA 23 and Frozen games.
"We want to position Accra as the esports hub of Africa and also unleash the potential of game players and developers in Africa using Accra Esports Week. A brisk city like Accra deserves a big new experience.
That’s why we have Accra Esports Week. It is an opener for all the major events that will happen throughout the year. Watch out for the next edition. It will be bigger and better," according to Maximus Ametorgoh, the event manager for Accra Esports Week.

"Accra Esports Week is our new school year school. We in the esports and video gaming industry see this event as the mother of all esports events. "We want to consolidate the sector and bring everyone who matters in the ecosystem together," Esports Association Ghana President Kwesi Hayford emphasised.
The top esports athletes in Ghana played video games such as FIFA 23, Clash Royale, PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, Apex Legends, eFootball, NBA 2K23, Gran Turismo, Creed, Mortal Kombat, and Frozen during the week.
Accra Esports Week is brought to you by PopOut and Esports Academy in partnership with the Esports Association of Ghana, JoyPrime, and MyJoyOnline.
It is supported by the Ghana Esports Federation, the Embassy of France in Ghana, Gamers Association Ghana, Leti Arts, Play Province, Otium Gaming Lounge, Yetra Esports Stadium, Motherland Gaming, Play Province, and Playdium.
