Founder and flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor has petitioned the Supreme Court to throw out the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) case concerning the 2020 Presidential results.
According to her, the petition by the NDC to contest the results of the Presidential elections is simply an attempt by the party to discredit the work of the Electoral Commission (EC) and its Chairperson, Jean Mensa.
She stated that her motive for demanding that the rejection of the NDC’s election petition is because the EC’s verdict was clear and true and resonated with her own verdict prior to the EC’s declaration.
“The main motive being that, the declaration of Presidency during the general election on the 9th day of December 2020 by Mrs Jean Mensa was clear and true just because I, Hon. Akua Donkor the flagbearer of Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) even declared the winner being his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo on Tuesday the 8th of December, 2020 before Mrs. Jean Mensa came to announce to the general public,” she stated in a statement addressed to the Supreme Court.
She added that the “NDC Party is just throwing stones in the eyes of Ghanaians,” and thus must be ignored.
