The MP for Anlo, Clement Kofi Humado, has called on the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), to make funds available for all member states affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, to combat the disease effectively.
Mr. Humado made the comment when he presented thermometers and other items to the health facilities in the Anloga District, to help them fight the disease.
According to Mr. Humado, there is an urgent need for the ECOWAS to extend a hand to its members as the countries do not have the capacity to fight it alone.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP also said “there is the need to strengthen our defense system to well combat the Covid-19, apart from the national efforts.”
The former Youth and Sports Minister also called for all regional laboratories to be strengthened and the need to decentralise the health services.
He was worried some basic items were not seen in the health centres in the Anlo constituency.
He appealed to natives of the Anlo land to come onboard and donate to the health centres as done recently by the Anlogaviwo Youths Development Association.
"We need all Anlo citizens to help in kind and cash to help fight the disease," he said
