Mr Fred Oware, Senior Advisor to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2024 presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, says the former Vice President remains the undisputed choice of the party’s grassroots.
According to him, if the party’s flagbearer election were held today, Dr. Bawumia would win by a landslide, citing his growing popularity and the trust he continues to enjoy among delegates.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Pure FM on Wednesday, August 27, Mr. Oware noted that Dr Bawumia’s support base has strengthened since the last primaries.
“From the support we continue to see across the country, there is no doubt that if the election were held today, Dr Bawumia would win massively,” he said. “His message continues to resonate, and our delegates know the future of the NPP is safe with him.”
Mr Oware pointed to Dr Bawumia’s track record in economic management and digital transformation during his tenure as Vice President as key reasons for his strong appeal.
“The delegates and the ordinary Ghanaian can testify to the work he has done. That is why his support base has only grown stronger since the primaries,” he added.
He further urged party members to remain united behind Dr Bawumia as the NPP readies itself for the 2024 general elections, stressing that internal unity will be crucial to victory.
“This is the time for us to rally behind our candidate. Unity is our strength, and with Dr Bawumia at the helm, the NPP is poised for success,” Mr Oware stated.
