Berekum Chelsea’s reputation for nurturing young talent continues to grow, with 17-year-old midfielder Kwesi Sorotu the latest gem to emerge from the club’s ranks.
The youngster has been a standout performer in what has otherwise been a difficult start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.
In just six appearances, Sorotu has claimed two Man of the Match awards, underlining his growing influence at the heart of Chelsea’s midfield.
His first came in the club’s 2–0 victory over Basake Holy Stars, where his energy and vision drove the team to their first win of the season.
He followed it up with another commanding display against Hearts of Oak, holding his own against experienced opponents despite Chelsea’s 2–0 defeat on Matchday 6.
Across six full games (540 minutes), Sorotu has already scored once — a crucial equaliser in the 1–1 draw away to Karela United.
His composure, tactical intelligence, and maturity beyond his years have drawn widespread praise from fans and pundits alike.
Following in the footsteps of former club hero Stephen Amankona, who once dominated the GPL scoring charts, Sorotu is quickly establishing himself as one of the league’s most promising young midfielders.
For a Berekum Chelsea side still seeking consistency, his emergence offers a rare and much-needed spark.
