Black Satellites head coach, Desmond Ofei has described Otto Addo as Ghana’s ‘best’ choice to revive the Black Stars.
Addo was re-appointed to lead the senior national team on a three-year-deal with an option for further two years.
He took over from Chris Hughton who led Ghana to one of the most disastrous campaigns at the 2023 African of Nations where the team exited the group stages with two points.
The Dortmund trainer is expected to revitalize the squad for subsequent tournaments including the next AFCON in Morocco 2025 and World Cup in 2006.
“He is a top coach. He is the one we need. He will help with the rebuild. He is modern [coach], a Ghanaian,” Desmond told Asempa FM.
“He has done it and played for the nation. He is the best possible solution we have at this moment. We should support him and he is going to do a fantastic job. We will see the reward very soon.”
Black Stars suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Nigeria in an international friendly on Friday.
Addo and his charges will seek to right the wrongs in their next encounter against Uganda on Tuesday.
