President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has pledged financial support for FC Samartex as they prepare for their maiden participation in the CAF Champions League.
The Samreboi-based side visited the President at the Jubilee House in Accra on Wednesday to seek “his blessings”.
The delegation, led by Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif includes Chief Executive Officer, Richard Nsenkyire, Business Development Manager, Paul Anyaba and other officials.

"We will see what we can do to help. We must help, it's a national assignment that you are undertaking, you are waving the flag of Ghana so we too have to do what we can to support you. Times are not the best as far as money is concerned. We will do our best to help.
"It's been sometime since we had a winner on the continental tournament, perhaps you have the opportunity to be that but we must all support you.
The reigning Ghana champions begin their journey in Africa against Cameroonian champions Victoria United on August 18 in the first round of the qualifiers for the group stages.
