Head Coach of the Black Princesses, Yussif Basigi, has expressed confidence in the team’s readiness ahead of their upcoming match against Austria in the U-20 World Cup in Colombia.
Basigi, who is making his second campaign after not progressing from the group stage in the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, is looking forward to a positive start.
The coach emphasized the team’s preparedness and excitement as they begin their journey in the global competition on Monday in Bogotá at 22:00 GMT.
"The players are match-ready because this is what they have been waiting for, and the time has come," he said.
"The technical staff is also ready because the players are looking up to us, and we must be match-ready since our readiness directly impacts the players."
The appearance will mark the Princesses' seventh at the tournament with all participations ending at the group stages.
