Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has admitted that the canker corruption is something that the nation has done very little about over the years.
According to him, this canker is weakening the foundation of the country.
Speaking at the 76th Graduation ceremony of the Trinity Theological Seminary, the Vice President called on leaders of the country and demanded they show the country what they have done to stop corruption.
“We have called it different names over the years kalabule, kululu, ways, and means, even recently I have heard galamsey.
“It is one of the things that every political party and politician talk about or has talked about over the years but it is one of the things that as a nation, we have done very little about over the years,” he said.
Meanwhile, government says it has resourced the various security agencies and driving digitisation to address the canker.
It has also touted the introduction of an Office of Special Prosecutor to help deal with the menace.
