The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has promised to ensure the well-being of citizens of Member States amidst the coronavirus outbreak.
According to a statement signed by the ECOWAS President, Jean-Claude Kassi Brou, sensitization programmes and provision of essential equipment have been provided through the West African Health Organisation (WAHO).
She further outlined works WAHO has undertaken to ensure that West Africa does not become the epicenter.
“We shall continue to support them [Member States] to deploy all preventive and containment measures to win the war against the pandemic.”
