The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has called on Ghanaians to vote overwhelmingly against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 7 general election.
He urged the electorate to reject the NPP, accusing the government of reckless misuse of state resources.
Speaking at rallies in Nadowli and Wichaw during his three-day campaign tour of the Upper West Region, Mahama blamed the NPP-led administration for plunging Ghana into a severe economic crisis.
He attributed this to corruption and poor governance under the current government.
Mahama further emphasised that retaining the NPP in power would endorse impunity and worsen economic hardship.
He encouraged voters to stand against the country's challenges by voting for the NDC in the upcoming elections.
“Any person who votes for NPP in this election is voting for impunity. Encouraging them to do what they have done to the citizens, and the pain they have inflicted on the citizens. What you are saying is you don’t find anything wrong with it."
“You vote for NPP because you don’t see anything wrong with how they have mismanaged this economy. You know, the best message that Ghanaians can send not only to the NPP, but to the rest of the world is that they have done enough damage, and it is time for them to go into opposition and go and reflect on the damage that they have done to this country," he said.
