Residents of Wa are living in fear following the alleged murders of two security guards in the municipality.
The incidents occurred at different locations. In one case, 62-year-old Naa Biengu Kobina was allegedly slaughtered.
At Wa Model Basic School, another middle-aged man is suspected to have been murdered, burned, and buried in the school compound.
JoyNews' Upper West regional correspondent, Rafiq Salam, reported that the victim is known as Seidu Taasung.
Authorities are currently searching for the body, and the police have not disclosed certain details.
The Upper West Regional minister visited the crime scene and assured the public that adequate security measures were in place to address their concerns.
Stephen Yakubu, stated, “We were informed that he suffered a deep cut to his throat, which knocked him unconscious after being hit with a stone."
"We were wondering if there was any struggle, but it seems there was just one blow to the head. We're also checking if any body parts were taken, but there's no evidence of that so far. As the investigation continues, we'll learn more.” he added
