The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has invited members of the public and other interested stakeholders to submit articles and other contributions for a special edition of its official newsletter, the Ghanaian Envoy, dedicated to Ghana’s Reparatory Justice Agenda.

According to a press release issued on Monday, August 24, the special edition is intended to chronicle Ghana’s journey and advocacy efforts towards advancing the reparatory justice agenda, while documenting key milestones, initiatives, engagements and perspectives on the country’s continuing efforts to secure justice, recognition and appropriate redress for historical injustices associated with the transatlantic slave trade and colonialism.

The Ministry said the publication would provide an opportunity to examine Ghana’s role in advancing discussions on reparatory justice and to bring together diverse perspectives on the country’s advocacy at both the national and international levels.

The Ministry is therefore inviting articles, opinion pieces, essays and other relevant contributions from members of the public, academics, researchers, practitioners, civil society organisations, historians and other interested stakeholders.

It said submissions could draw on contributors’ perspectives, experiences, observations, research and insights on Ghana’s Reparatory Justice Agenda.

According to the Ministry, contributions may examine the historical context of reparatory justice, Ghana’s advocacy efforts, international engagements, achievements made so far, challenges confronting the agenda and possible ways forward.

The Ministry said contributions should be brief and concise, while encouraging prospective authors to ensure that their submissions are clear, well researched and directly relevant to the purpose of the special edition.

It also urged contributors to submit original and unpublished articles for consideration.

Interested contributors are required to send their submissions to the Information and Public Affairs Bureau (IPAB) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via ipab@mfa.gov.gh.

Authors must also attach a recent passport-size coloured photograph showing the head and shoulders. The photograph should be submitted in a high-resolution JPEG or PNG format for possible inclusion in the publication.

The deadline for submissions is September 2.

The Ministry said the special edition would contribute to documenting Ghana’s continued efforts to advance the Reparatory Justice Agenda and provide space for informed perspectives on the country’s advocacy, international engagements and the broader quest for justice and redress.

It expressed the hope that the contributions would provide thoughtful and insightful perspectives capable of enriching both the national and international discourse on reparatory justice.
