A fuel tanker carrying petrol overturned at Adidome Dorfor in the early hours of Friday, prompting a response from the Adidome Fire Station that averted what could have been a catastrophic incident.
According to a post shared on Facebook by the Ghana Fire Service, the tanker, bearing registration number GT 5867-21, veered off its lane and toppled onto its side.

The Adidome Fire Station received a distress call reporting the accident and immediately dispatched a team under the leadership of ASTN/O Gabienu Perry at 12:19 pm. The crew arrived at the scene at 12:30 pm.

Upon assessing the situation, firefighters noted the imminent risk posed by the flammable petrol on board.
Acting swiftly, they deployed foam concentrate to cool the overturned tanker, preventing the situation from escalating into a fire or explosion. By 1pm, the incident had been brought under control.

Later in the morning, at 11:00 am, a GNFS recovery truck successfully removed the tanker, allowing the road to be cleared and reopened to traffic.

The prompt intervention of the Adidome Fire Station team was instrumental in ensuring the safety of both the driver and road users.
