President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has denied suggestions members of his entity dictate players to technical coaches of the national team.
Allegations of player selection for coaches have been the order of the day in the last few years with Ghanaians blaming the GFA for interfering in the management of the national teams leading to their struggles.
However, Okraku has brushed away claims of interference from the FA, claiming the freedom given is the reason why Otto Addo made the decision to return as head coach of the Black Stars.
"Coach Addo has had said on platforms that one of the key reasons he accepted to come back is the fact that he is allowed to do the work the way he wants to work," he told Parliament's Sports Select Committee sitting on Monday, September 30.
"Players representing Ghana are solely selected by the technical team of our national teams — where it’s the Black Queens or the Black Stars."
Okarku was present at Parliament as they looked into the petition submitted by the Save Ghana Football Forum in February.
Present at the sitting was also the Vice President of the GFA, Mark Addo as well as General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo.
