The President of the Ghana Olympic Committee/Commonwealth Games Association of Ghana has said the Ghana House Project represents a major opportunity to advance Ghana’s economic diplomacy agenda and position the country as an attractive destination for investment and business.
Addressing stakeholders at the official launch of Ghana House in London on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, he said the project demonstrates how sport can serve as a catalyst for national development and economic transformation.
He explained that the initiative aligns with Ghana’s broader efforts to accelerate industrialisation, promote exports, attract investment, develop tourism and create employment opportunities.
“Ghana House is deliberately designed to go beyond the traditional boundaries of sport. It is intended to demonstrate how sport can serve as a catalyst for national development and economic transformation,” he said.
The CGA President said the project will promote Ghanaian products and services, facilitate trade partnerships, showcase the country’s tourism destinations and creative industries, and strengthen relationships with the Ghanaian diaspora.
He acknowledged the contributions of several government institutions and partners, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Ministry of Sports and Recreation, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Ghana Export Promotion Authority and Ghana Tourism Authority.
He also commended the Ghana House Coordination Committee and ASA Plus Destination for their roles in bringing the initiative to fruition.
The CGA President encouraged investors, exporters, tourism operators, development partners and friends of Ghana to support the project, stressing that Ghana House is an opportunity to showcase not only the achievements of Ghanaian athletes but also the country’s enterprise, creativity and innovation.
“Together, we have an opportunity to showcase not only the excellence of Ghanaian athletes but also the excellence of Ghanaian enterprise, innovation, culture and people,” he added.
He expressed confidence that Ghana House would become a lasting symbol of collaboration, opportunity and national pride beyond Ghana’s participation in the Commonwealth Games.
The Ghana House Project, a platform established to promote trade, tourism, investment, culture and diaspora engagement during the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, has officially been launched at a Press Launch in London by the Deputy Head of Mission of the Ghana High Commission, Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, in the presence of the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) and the Chairman of the Ghana House Project Coordination Committee.
The Coordination Committee is inviting exhibitors, businesses, and partners to join us in showcasing Ghana to the world.
