The Deputy Managing Director of Ghana Post Company Limited, Stephen Kingsley Bennieh, has extended vital financial support to the youth of the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality, in a significant boost to grassroots sports development.
The intervention, aimed at empowering young talents through discipline and healthy competition, targeted two major sporting calendars within the municipality.
The first donation supported the Basic Inter-Schools Sports Competition (Bibiani Zone ‘C’), held in November 2025, while a follow-up contribution was made for the ongoing Inter-Zonal Sporting Activities at Dominibo No. 2, which concluded on Friday, January 23, 2026.
Mr Bennieh, a prominent legal practitioner and a staunch member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has long been a vocal advocate for youth development.
By financing these competitions, he aims to provide a platform for rural students to showcase their athletic prowess, which often goes unnoticed due to a lack of resources.
The funds were formally received by Mr. Felix Ofosu Gyebi (Unit Committee Chairman) and Mr. Philip Appiah (PTA Chairman), who both lauded the gesture as a timely intervention that relieved the financial burden on the participating schools and local organisers.
“These interventions reaffirm Lawyer Bennieh’s belief that sports is a powerful tool for discipline, unity, and talent development, especially for young people across the constituency,” a statement from his office noted.
Mr Bennieh’s contributions are seen not just as a philanthropic act, but as a commitment to the "upliftment" of the NDC grassroots and the wider Bibiani community.
As the Deputy MD of Ghana Post, Mr Bennieh has been instrumental in the company’s recent drive to integrate the "24-Hour Economy" agenda into postal logistics, and he appears to be applying that same energy to constituency building.
