Ghana will host the U-20 WAFU A&B Boys Cup in Accra this June, following the successful organisation of the CAF African Schools Football Championship at the University of Ghana Stadium in April.
The tournament is scheduled to run from June 15 to 30, 2025, and will feature all 16 countries from the West African region: Cape Verde, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Mali, Liberia, Mauritania, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Niger, Nigeria, Togo, and host nation Ghana.
This marks the first time teams from both WAFU A and WAFU B will compete in a unified U-20 tournament. Previously, both zones held separate competitions, which also served as qualifiers for the U-20 CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
According to the Ghana Football Association, matches will be played at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, with the grand final set for the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra.
The U-20 WAFU A&B Boys Cup aims to enhance competition and foster football development across the West African region at the youth level.
