Heart of Lions snatched a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Berekum Chelsea in their Week Nine Ghana Premier League encounter at the Kpando Sports Stadium, thanks to a late goal from Paul Atta Agyei.
The game started with Lions showing early intent, but striker Obeng Junior was flagged offside just two minutes in after breaking away behind the Chelsea defence.
The hosts continued to press, and in the 23rd minute, Ishmael Addo squandered a golden opportunity from close range, missing what could have been the opener.
Both teams struggled to find rhythm in the first half, which ended goalless despite a few half-chances on either side.
The second half followed a similar pattern until the closing stages when substitute Paul Atta Agyei finally broke the deadlock, calmly slotting home with less than ten minutes to play.
The victory sees Heart of Lions climb to third on the table with 18 points.
Berekum Chelsea, on the other hand, remain 14th with just 8 points after nine games.
Up next, Lions will travel to face Young Apostles, while Chelsea return home to take on Nations FC.
