Nations FC were held to a 1-1 draw by newly promoted Hohoe United at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Stadium on Friday, as Emmanuel Annor’s late equaliser salvaged a point for the hosts and denied the visitors what would have been their first away victory of the season.
Hohoe United took a surprise lead in the 23rd minute through Ati Sena, who capitalised on a rare attacking opportunity to stun the home crowd. Despite dominating possession and territory, Nations FC struggled to find a breakthrough for most of the contest, with missed chances proving costly.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 86th minute, when forward Emmanuel Annor found the back of the net to level the scoreline, sparking relief among the home supporters who had endured a tense afternoon in Abrankese.
The result leaves both teams level on points, with Nations FC extending their unbeaten home run to five matches, while Hohoe United continue their search for a first-ever away win in the top flight.
