Samuel Kumi bagged a hat trick as Bibiani Gold Stars thrashed Accra Lions 3-0 at the WAFA Park in Sogakope.
Gold Stars started brightly and took the lead after just 16 minutes when Kumi tucked home.
Frimpong Manso’s side continued to knock on the door for the second, while Lions, who fired Head Coach Ibrahim Tanko last week, struggled to keep them at bay.
The pressure finally was rewarded with Kumi on hand again to double the lead for his side in first half stoppage time.
The second half continued in the same fashion, as Golden Stars continued to push for another goal.
Kumi completed his hat trick four minutes into the second half with a fine effort.
The win sends Gold Stars top of the league at the end of the first round of the league, while Lions drop to the bottom.
