The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bibiani Gold Stars, Kwasi Adu, has backed the proposal of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to extend the term limit of its president.
Last week, the GFA communicated receiving approval from FIFA to extend the presidential limit from two to three to fit the same practice as the highest governing body, as well as CAF.
The proposed amendment could potentially impact the current GFA President, Kurt Okraku, who has already served one term. Kurt, who is serving his second term, might be eligible to serve another extending his tenure beyond the current eight-year limit.
Speaking to Sporty FM, Kwasi Adu rallied his support behind the proposed initiative ahead of the GFA's upcoming congress.
"The proposal to extend the term limit of the GFA president to three is a step in the right direction, not an imposition," he said.
Following FIFA’s approval, the GFA is set to place the presidential term amendment on the agenda for the next congress, which is slated for August 12, 2025, where members will vote on its adoption, adhering to these procedures.
