Transport Deputy Minister-designate, Hassan Tampuli and Finance Deputy Minister-designate, John Ampontuah Kumah are among four appointees to be vetted by Parliament’s Appointments Committee, Wednesday, June 9.
The Appointments Committee has already vetted 20 appointees as of Tuesday, June, 8. The Committee will also drill these two nominees today; Deputy Minister-designate for Trade and Industry, Michael Okyere Baafi and Interior Deputy Minister-designate Naana Ayiah Quansah.
Chairman of the Committee, Joseph Osei Owusu, together with his members will question these nominees about how they will assist their substantive Ministers to ensure the second administration of President Akufo-Addo is successful.
So far, the 20 nominees vetted have been recommended for approval. Deputy Minister-designate for Energy, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, Tuesday, joined the list of those recommended to Parliament for approval.
Egyapa Mercer’s approval was deferred due to his contradicting views on the PDS-ECG deal. But the Committee, yesterday, after reviewing his vetting footage decided to unblock his approval.
Meanwhile, some 16 appointees are yet to face the Appointments Committee. The vetting of Akufo-Addo’s Deputy Ministerial appointees will come to an end next week Tuesday, June 15.
