Hundreds throng the Tigon Creative studio in Accra for the audition of Joy Prime’s latest reality show, Cues and Lyrics.
They yearned for a bigger platform to exhibit their musical dexterity.
Distance seems not to be an issue for many of these budding musicians, as they travelled widely in the hope of tasting stardom.
Johnny Walker hopes to be selected for the show.
He travelled about 500 kilometres down south from his base in the Bono region to audition for Joy Prime’s Cues and Lyrics reality show.

He has been nursing his childhood dreams for years, looking for the right platform to showcase his talent.
"I’m here to change my dreams and make my region proud. I want to be like how people mention Tema and other regions. There are a lot of talents in B/A, but I think people don’t organise auditions there. It is mostly in Accra or Kumasi," the Bono region-based rapper said.

All music genres were represented: rap, dancehall, singing, Afrobeat, highlife, gospel, and reggae, just to name a few.
Another prospective contestant said, "I’m coming from Akwatia. I saw your promo, and I love music. That’s my dream. I want to be a musician, so when I saw it I was happy. The creator brought us to this earth for a purpose, and if you’re fortunate to find your dream, you have to let it come true. You shouldn’t keep it."
Cues and Lyrics is a talent hunt that aims to unearth the next big music star in Ghana.
Joy Prime also developed this show for its audience to better bond with their cherished viewers.

Out of the hundreds of performances, the judges will have the arduous task of selecting the best 12 artistes for the maiden season of Cues and Lyrics.
In all, the winner will walk home with a juicy package of GH¢50,000 in cash prize, a recording contract for two singles, airplay worth GH¢30,000, and a trip to Dubai.
Cues and Lyrics airs on your home of the ultimate TV viewing experience, Joy Prime, at 8 p.m. this and every Sunday.
