Ghanaian rapper, Medikal has opened up about the troubles he went through following his arrest for brandishing a gun on social media in 2021.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, the rapper recounted the event of his arrest and said, “I felt inhumane, it wasn’t right.”
Medikal also revealed that he had to clear his name from embassies because of his criminal record in order to travel, adding that the experience was quite strenuous.
“My last experience with the police was not a very friendly one, I had to clear my name from embassies before I could travel” he remarked on December 16," he said.
He also explained that, he was unaware that brandishing a registered gun on social media, was an offense.
The rapper expressed disappointment over how his case was handled and tagged it as unfair because he believes he didn’t commit a crime. He said, “brandishing isn’t when you’re home taking a picture of something the police registered and licensed for you themselves“.
Recounting the demise, Medikal explained his reason for tweeting that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had been unfair in putting him behind bars.
The rapper explained that he did not commit a crime and although he doesn’t trust the next government, he hopes they will treat citizens fairly.
