Chairman of the SAS Group and Accra Hearts Of Oak and astute investment banker, Togbe Afede XIV, has paid glowing tribute to the Ghana Stock Exchange for turning his business life around, following his return from the United States of America after studying Masters in Business Administration in the late 1980’s.
The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State in the Volta region who is also the founder of African World Airlines and Co-Founder of Databank singled out the first Managing Director of the GSE, Yeboa Amoah for impacting so much skills and knowledge on his capital market life, which today has contributed significantly to his success in business.
Receiving an award from the GSE for his significant contribution to the growth of the capital market, Togbe Afede XIV who is a capital market expertise said he was inspired by the exchange to return home after studies abroad which has shaped his business life.
“When I finished my MBA in the United States, I was inspired by the Ghana Stock Exchange to come back home without working one day in the United States. And I have since then learn a lot so much with my initial work with Yeboa Amoah, through the foundation of SAS, Databank and of course my involvement in various other industries has always been a reference to what I’ve learnt from the Ghana Stock Exchange”, he mentioned after receiving the award.
“I’m in aviation, I’m in manufacturing, I’m in football, all thanks to the Ghana Stock Exchange. And am very excited about the pitching in particular the emphasis on relevance where I think relevance implies that desire to aid the development of our country in particular the growth of our economy and job creation”, he stated.
“And so I dedicate this award to Yeboa Amoah and other past employees of the Ghana Stock Exchange and of course the current staff of the Ghana Stock Exchange”, he added.
Togbe Afede XIV is also a director of the largest Independent Power Producer in the country, Sunon Asogli.
