The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has commended Ghana for its strides in developing a comprehensive migration policy and strengthening migration management systems.
The praise was delivered by the Head of IOM Mission in Ghana, Fatou Ndiaye, during a courtesy call on the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, in Accra.

Madam Ndiaye described Ghana as a model within the region, noting that the country’s approach to migration governance reflects a growing commitment and leadership in managing migration effectively.
She stressed that migration remains a shared global challenge that requires coordinated and collaborative responses.

She also expressed appreciation to the Ministry for its continued support and strong partnership with the IOM in advancing migration-related initiatives in the country.
In response, Mr Mohammed-Mubarak thanked the organisation for its sustained cooperation with Ghana and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the IOM.

He assured that the Ministry would continue to work closely with its partners to strengthen migration management systems, ensuring they contribute to national development while addressing emerging challenges.
