Ghanaian doctor in China, Dr Percy Akuetteh, who recorded a song on the coronavirus outbreak, says JoyNews’ Anchor, Israel Laryea, was the inspiration behind the song.
Speaking to JoyNews' Becky, he said Israel Laryea encouraged him to do a song in English after composing a song in Chinese during the country’s peak moment in the Covid-19 fight.
“We thought of doing something for Ghana too but then, at that moment, I felt like probably, it wasn’t ready and the time wasn’t there. Also, because Ghana didn’t have any cases...we were all hoping it will stay like that,” he said.
However, Dr. Percy Akuetteh said, creating a new song for Ghanaians was a difficult task.
He five persons -all Ghanaians- worked on the song but with different dialects. He said it was quite tasking reaching out to them to create something in their respective languages.
Dr. Akuetteh is currently a Surgery PHD student at Wenzhou Medical University and does music as a hobby.
In his song, which he sang in the Chinese language, he discusses the symptoms of the Covid-19.
