Israel receives third list of hostages to be released as fragile truce holds

Yahal Shoham, 3, and brother Nave Shoham, 8, were released with their mum and grandmother on Saturday.

More Israeli hostages are expected to be released on Sunday but timings are unknown 26 Israeli hostages - all women and children - have been freed as part of a deal between Israel and Hamas.

78 Palestinian prisoners have also been released from Israeli jails over two days.

Meanwhile, 14 Thai hostages and one Filipino have been freed as part of a separate deal between Hamas and the Egyptian government.

A young brother and sister were among the Israeli hostages released. Nave and Yahal were kidnapped along with their parents and several other family members from Kibbutz Be'eri, on 7 October.

The children were able to leave captivity with their mum Adi Shoham, 38, and grandmother Dr Shoshan Haran, 67.

Dr Haran's husband, Avshalom, an economist and dual German-Israeli citizen, was killed in the Hamas attack, while Adi's husband, Tal, 38, remains in captivity.
Today is the third day of a four-day pause in fighting between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Gazans have been using the pause in fighting to get desperately-needed supplies of fuel, food and medicine.

Hamas’s attacks on 7 October killed 1,200 people, with about 240 taken hostage.

Since then, Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry says more than 14,500 people have been killed in Israel's retaliatory campaign.
