Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko have announced the signing of midfielder Saaka Dauda ahead of the 2024/25 season.
The 24-year-old joins the club from Bofoakwa Tano on a three-year deal after completing his mandatory medical in Kumasi.
Saaka was an influential figure in midfield for Bofoakwa last season as he netted eight goals and provided three assists in the league last season. However, his efforts were not enough to save his side from relegation.
He becomes Kotoko's seventh signing in the transfer window.
Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum expressed his excitement about the new addition to the team, highlighting Dauda’s leadership and technical skills. "Saaka Dauda is a player of remarkable talent and character.
"His ability to influence the game both offensively and defensively makes him an invaluable asset. His leadership experience, having captained Bofoakwa Tano to a memorable FA Cup final, will be instrumental in our quest for success.
"Adding a player of Saaka’s calibre, who can contribute significantly in attack and also command the midfield, aligns perfectly with our tactical vision. His experience and leadership will be crucial as we aim to compete at the highest levels."
The newly signed player will be looking to guide the Porcupine Warriors to a top-four finish next season after their rollercoaster ride during the 2023/24 campaign.
