Former President John Dramani Mahama and flagbearer, National Democratic Congress (NDC) has pledged to restore the dwindling economic fortunes of Ghana.
According to him, the upcoming December 7 election is a turning point for Ghana; a choice between the Ghana we have today and the Ghana we want together.
Mr Mahama was addressing the party’s last rally at the Zurak Park, Madina in Accra attended by thousands of party faithful clad in party paraphernalia.
“Saturday’s election is not just another election. It is a defining moment for our nation. It is a choice between the Ghana we have and the Ghana we want-a Ghana of opportunity, prosperity, and justice for all,” he told the cheering crowd.
Mr Mahama also used the opportunity to explained his vision for the country, promising to create opportunities for all sectors of society.
He pledged to build a nation where young people’s voices would be head, working class.people having access to sustainable, well-paying jobs, and entrepreneurs thriving in a free and fair market.
He pledged to promote the issues of women and girls, adding that they deserved true equality, safety, and the chance to reach their full potential.
Mr Mahama also promised to implement bold reforms, including a lean government with not more than 60 ministers and deputy ministers.
On corruption, he promised to launch “Operation Return All Loot (ORAL),” a comprehensive initiative to recover stolen funds for national development. “We will wage a relentless war on corruption with dedicated zeal, retrieving stolen loot for the country’s development and the benefit of our youth,” he declared.
Mr Mahama further assured Ghanaians of economic measures to curb inflation, stabilise food prices, and build a 24-hour economy capable of creating millions of jobs,l.
“Every Ghanaian deserves leadership that puts the people first, fights corruption, and builds a nation we can all be proud of.”
