The Minority in Parliament has petitioned the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate alleged recruitments into some key security services.
This includes the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Ghana Police Service (GPS), Ghana Prisons Service, and the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC).
Earlier, the Minority had raised concerns about what they perceive as clandestine recruitment of party faithful into the security services by the government.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader, alleged during a news conference in Parliament on May 20, that all NPP Parliamentary candidates have been allocated 30 slots each to select NPP loyalists to fill positions within the security services, including the Police and Army.
Subsequently, the NDC MPs are seeking an investigation into the issue.
