A woman and her two children have reportedly been burnt to death at New Takoradi, a suburb of Sekondi-Takoradi, following a fire outbreak.
According to an eyewitness, residents saw fumes coming from the house in which the woman and her family live around 8 am on Friday and rushed to put off the fire.

He said the assemblyman for the area called officials of the Ghana National Fire Service while the residents fetched water and sand to put out the fire.
The residents, he said, had no idea that the woman and her two children were trapped in their bathroom.

She was said to be bathing her one-year-old and eight-month-old children when the fire started.
The eyewitness said deceased's screams may have been masked by the bustling and shouting the residents made when putting out the fire.

The residents only realised the woman had been trapped in the bathroom with her children when the Fire Service officers arrived to investigate.
The 30-year-old woman was reportedly cooking while bathing her children, which makes some people suspect that may have started the fire.

The bodies have been deposited at the morgue.
