Korle Klottey MP Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings says she will retain her position as the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s candidate for the 2024 elections with or without the influence of her late father.
Speaking at the voting grounds for the NDC primaries in the constituency, Dr Agyeman-Rawlings noted that her team has been working hard for the constituency and it is evident in how the people consistently vote for her in the general elections.
“My father wasn't here in 2020 but I won the general election. You can only speak to the data and the data shows that in 2016 I beat the NPP candidate by a margin of over 4000 and in 2020 that appreciated to over 8000...that speaks to a lot,” she said.
She added that “it also speaks to something positive in terms of the way people have voted for me. And I think in some ways it speaks to the work that I have been able to put in and I pray for the opportunity to do more.”
Dr Agyeman-Rawlings is hopeful she would win the primaries and once again represent her party in the 2024 general elections adding she is not entertaining any thought of defeat.
The NDC Primaris takes off today with voting ongoing in many constituencies across the country.
The party is voting for their parliamentary candidates and the flagbearer ahead of the 2024 elections.
In Korle Klottey, Dr Agyeman-Rawlings noted that the atmosphere has been positive and she hopes the voting and counting would be over before sundown.
