The Member of Parliament for New Juaben South constituency and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Michael Okyere Baafi says the New Patriotic Party has brought more development to the people of Koforidua and its environs than any other government under the 4th Republic.
According to the New Juaben South legislator, Koforidua has seen much improvement in roads, health and sports infrastructure, trade support systems, education, security and all sectors of the economy under the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration than the previous NDC administration put together.
Addressing market women at the Agartha Market near the Railway Police Station in Koforidua, Mr. Okyere Baafi announced plans to solve the perennial mud witnessed at the market during the rainy season.
He assured traders that the problem will be solved by the end of September.
'If there is any MP who prioritises the development of Koforidua, then I'm the one. I'm a Koforidua boy, Koforidua is my Hometown. So I will go all out to make Koforidua better than I met it' Okyere Baafi said
He exhibited some projects undertaken under his leadership in less than four years including retooling of the Eastern Regional Hospital, the Koforidua Technical University hospital, construction of a New Hospital at NyameKrom and several clinics within the New Juaben South Municipal.
On education, he touched on the construction of a New school block for the Anglican school at Betom among others. He said several citizens of Koforidua have been given scholarships to study abroad while others have been granted scholarships to study in Ghana.
The MP believes education holds the key to development.
He told the market women to assess his performance and make a determination in favor for him and the NPP flag bearer Dr. Mahamadu Bawumiah in the December 7th election.
