President of Ghana Premier League side, Young Apostles, Samuel Anim Addo, has stood by his decision to voice out his concerns about referee Maxwell Hanson following his performance over the weekend.
Hanson was the talking point following is officiating in Accra Lions' defeat to Dreams FC on matchday 16 of the top flight.
His performance led to Accra Lions calling for urgent reforms to the country's football situation as they questioned some of the calls of the centre referee.
Lions' complaints were supported by Anim Addo, who alleged Hanson has been used by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for their 'dirty works.'
His comments have since got him charged by the Disciplinary Committee of the GFA for misconduct but the former Executive Council member believes it was only right for him to speak up.
"I know a lot of people will say that why did I come out? But If Accra Lions have come out and have spoken about this same man [Maxwell Hanson] and I don't come out to support them then I'm being a coward," he said on Joy News' Prime Sports on Thursday, January 9.
Young Apostles, following Anim Addo's charge by the Disciplinary Committee of the FA, dissociated themselves from the comments made by their co-owner.
However, he also asked football fans and stakeholders to disregard the club's stance on his remarks on social media.
