Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has secured a clean sweep in all six constituencies of the Ahafo Region during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, demonstrating overwhelming support from party delegates in the area.
Provisional results show strong backing for Dr Bawumia across the region, with the former Vice President winning convincingly in every constituency.
In Tano North, Dr Bawumia recorded his strongest performance with 478 votes, followed by Tano South where he polled 404 votes. He also secured 379 votes in Asunafo North, 365 in Asunafo South, 310 in Asutifi South, and 298 in Asutifi North.
Businessman Kennedy Ohene Agyapong emerged as the second-best performer in the region, with his highest tally coming from Tano South where he secured 181 votes. He also polled 160 votes in Asutifi North, 145 in Asunafo South, 122 in Asunafo North, 118 in Tano North, and 104 in Asutifi South.
Former Food and Agriculture Minister Dr Bryan Acheampong came third across the region, recording 138 votes in Tano South, 126 in Asunafo South, 85 in Asutifi North, 65 in Tano North, 52 in Asutifi South, and 35 in Asunafo North.
Former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum garnered modest support with 16 votes in Asutifi South, 11 in Tano South, 9 in Asutifi North, 7 in Asunafo South, 2 in Tano North, and 1 in Asunafo North.
Former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong managed minimal votes across the region, polling 1 vote each in Asunafo North, Asutifi South, Tano North, and Tano South, while securing no votes in Asunafo South and Asutifi North.
The Ahafo Region's results add to Dr Bawumia's growing tally as counting continues at over 300 polling centres across the country, with more than 211,000 delegates expected to have voted by the end of the exercise.
