The Ministry of Information held a press briefing to update Ghanaians on the fight against the third wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr Kuma-Aboagye moderated the briefing.
They explained the interventions put in place by the government to address the surge in Covid-19 cases recorded.
As of July 23, the country has recorded 823 deaths, according to the Ghana Health Service. Also, a total of 4,521 active cases have been reported.
Although President Akufo-Addo during his address to the nation on Sunday, July 25, revealed that government is procuring over 18 million vaccines, he admonished members of the public to strictly adhere to the safety protocols.
He admitted that the total disregard for the safety protocols has resulted in the third wave of the pandemic.
