Former President John Mahama has pledged to establish a 24-hour economy as a key pillar of his campaign for the 2024 presidential election.
Mr Mahama argued that such a policy would contribute to economic growth and job creation, especially for the youth.
But the pledge has been criticised by some civil societies including the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia stating that the 24-hour economy cannot be legislated by the government.
Also discussed on JoyNews’ Newsfile was the Legislative Instrument that seeks to restrict the importation of 22 products into the country unless by permission from the Trades Minister.
