A devastating rainstorm swept through the Bankamba community and its surrounding areas in the Kpandai District of the Northern Region on Friday night, leaving widespread destruction in its wake.
The affected communities include Binagmamdo, Chakori, and Kumbi.

The storm destroyed over 100 houses, including a school, and caused extensive damage. The heavy rainfall, which lasted for an hour, brought down electricity poles, ripped off roofs, and severely damaged homes.

The area is currently plunged into darkness due to the destruction of power infrastructure.
The region, which is predominantly agricultural, saw farmers' livelihoods destroyed in the storm. These farmers, already struggling due to the recent drought, now face the loss of crops such as maize, groundnuts, soybeans, and Barbara beans.

Without assistance, they will have nothing to sustain them in the short term.
Many of the affected residents are currently living in the open.

The residents have described the storm as intense, leaving chaos and widespread destruction behind. Many are left to pick up the pieces, counting their losses and assessing the damage.

The community's Assembly member, Kenneth Kwame Ndignum, has appealed for help and support from the government and other agencies to assist those affected.
