The Techiman North District Assembly of the Bono East Region, has supported victims of a recent rainstorm that rendered hundreds homeless in Aworowa, a community within the District.
The rainstorm which badly hit communities including Akrofrom and its environs, ripped off the roofs of many houses. Properties worth thousands of Ghana Cedis were also lost following the storm.

Responding to the plight of the affected communities, the Techiman North District Assembly led by the District Chief Executive, Peter Mensah presented relief items including 50 bags of cement and 10 packets of roofing sheets to the Aworowa traditional council for onward distribution to the affected households.

Mr Mensah maintained that it has always been part of the Assembly to strengthen the activities of National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), to effectively mobilise resources and coordinate disaster in the District.
He appealed to the people to work on strengthening their structures in order to survive any unforeseen disasters as we zoom into the rainy season.
He also appealed to the traditional authorities to support the assembly's quest of using the Akumfi Ameyaw SHS as one of five isolation centers within the District as part of it's preparations towards fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.
On his part, Nana Yeboah Kokwa III Aworowahene and Gyaasowahene of the Techiman Traditional Council thanked the Assembly for the support and also assured that the traditional council would support the Assembly in it's effort to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
