TotalEnergies Marketing Ghana Plc has started the distribution of about 3,000 crash helmets to commercial motorcycle riders across the country under the “Helmet 4 Life initiative”.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, TotalEnergies Marketing Ghana Plc launched the “Helmet 4 Life initiative”.
The initiative aims to raise awareness among riders on the principles of road safety particularly, wearing of helmets.
About 100,000 crash helmets will be distributed across three continents; Africa, Asia and America. The distribution exercise began at Darkuman where about 200 motorcycle riders received free helmets.

“This is part of the company’s corporate social commitment to road safety in Ghana. However, it’s not just in Ghana as we’re actually doing this across 40 countries on three continents; Africa, Asia and America. In Ghana, we’ll be giving out about 3,200 helmets and we’re doing this across six locations. We’re starting in Accra, we’ll move to Aflao and end at Tamale,” Managing Director of TotalEnergies Marketing Ghana Plc, Olufemi Babajide outlined.
The Director General of the Motor, Traffic and Transport Department, COP Francis Doku lauded the initiative and urged all motorcycle riders to adhere to road safety measures.
“I was overwhelmed when I was invited to this event because we have been looking for opportunities like this to gather motorcycle riders, educate them and give them the support they need to ride safely on our roads. The Helmet 4 Life initiative is a good project and I will appeal to other organisations to allocate budgets to ensuring that our roads are safe,” he said.
Ex-Black Stars Captain, Stephen Appiah is the brand ambassador for TotalEnergies Ghana Plc and he graced the occasion.
