The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two people for the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man in Asankragwa, which occurred on Sunday, August 17.
According to a statement released by the Western Central Regional Police Command, preliminary investigations suggest that a group of individuals, including the two arrested suspects, pursued the victim before allegedly stabbing him multiple times.
The attack is believed to have stemmed from an earlier misunderstanding between the deceased and one of the suspects, identified as Kwasi Opong.

Swift action by the police led to the arrest of 36-year-old Kwasi Opong and 23-year-old William Francis Osei. Both men are currently in police custody and assisting with the ongoing investigation.
A third suspect, whose name has not yet been disclosed, is said to be on the run. Authorities have launched a manhunt to bring the individual to justice.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Asankrangwa Catholic Hospital morgue for preservation and an autopsy.

The Western Central Regional Police Command assured the public that all persons involved in what it described as a “heinous crime” will face the full rigours of the law.
It also appealed to the public to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation, urging them to contact the Asankrangwa Police.
