The Black Starlets of Ghana finished their involvement in the UEFA U-16 International Development tournament with an emphatic win on Sunday, April 28.

Laryea Kingston's side came from a goal down to record a 5-1 victory over Kazakhstan in Zenit to pick up their second win in the competition.

Kurmanakhan opened the scoring for Kazakhstan in the 21st minute of the game beating the Ghanaian defence before lobbing the ball over the goalkeeper.

However, captain Benjamin Tsevanyo levelled the score for the West African side with three minutes left to play until the halftime whistle.

Tsevanyo latched onto a decent pass played into his path by Ernest Ofori before smashing the ball into the back of the net.

Just before the break, Joseph Narbi struck twice to add to Ghana's momentum as he put them ahead for the first time in the game before extending the lead in added time.

The attacker lurked at the back post and capitalised on a ball into the penalty area to tap into the net.

Ghana continued to dominate the game after the recess.

Substitute Abdulai Nortey scored in the 59th minute to make it 4-1 after a brilliant buildup from the back.

The vice captain's shot beat the goalkeeper after a deflection in the penalty area.

Benjamin Hanson wrapped up the victory for Kingston's side with a fifth goal, leaving Kazakhstan with no chance of a comeback.

The victory on Sunday means, Ghana picked up two wins from three games in the competition, scoring 11 goals and conceding three.

The Starlets will now turn their attention to preparations for the WAFU B U-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers to be staged in Accra next month.
