Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has lauded the Assemblies of God, Ghana, for investing in the nation’s education and health sectors.
She gave the commendation during a courtesy call on her in Accra by the Executive Presbytery of the Assemblies of God, Ghana.
The purpose of the visit by the delegation, which was led by Rev. Stephen Wengam, the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana was to congratulate Vice President Professor Opoku-Agyemang on her election as Ghana’s first female Vice President, and to pray with her.
It was also to discuss issues of national importance.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Church for their visit and encouragement.
She called for greater partnership between the Church and the State in meeting the socio-economic needs of the citizenry.
Rev. Wengam on his part expressed the desire that her ascension to this high office would inspire many women to aspire for higher heights.
He commended the Vice President for having a solid track record in the field of Academia and leadership.
The General Superintendent also admonished the Presidency to pursue their vision with diligence, not neglecting integrity and godliness.
