The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region has extended heartfelt congratulations to two distinguished sons of the region, Edward Doe Adjaho and Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple, for their recent appointments to the Council of State.
Mr Adjaho, a seasoned statesman and former Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, has been nominated as a member of the Council of tate and subsequently elected as the chairman of the advisory body.
His selection to lead the council underscores his deep understanding of governance, unwavering dedication to national service, and extensive experience in both legislative and executive affairs.
In a statement signed by the Volta Regional Chairman of the NDC Mawutor Agbavitor, V, the party lauded Mr Adjaho’s elevation, describing it as a recognition of his illustrious career and an endorsement of the capable leadership that the Volta Region consistently produces.
"The Volta Region takes immense pride in this appointment, which further cements our place in Ghana’s political landscape. Mr Adjaho’s leadership will undoubtedly bring wisdom, integrity, and stability to the Council’s deliberations, ultimately strengthening our democracy," the statement read.
Furthermore, the NDC celebrated the election and swearing-in of Mr Kwamigah-Atokple, a prominent businessman and philanthropist, as a member of the Council of State representing the Volta region.
The party noted that his presence on the council will provide valuable perspectives that will enrich national policy discussions and contribute to Ghana’s socio-economic development.
The NDC in the Volta Region reaffirmed its commitment to supporting exemplary leaders from the region who dedicate their expertise and service to the country.
The party urged both Mr Adjaho and Kwamigah-Atokple to uphold the values of fairness, dedication, and excellence as they assume their new roles.
“We are confident that their contributions will enhance governance and policy decision-making, ensuring that the aspirations of the Ghanaian people are met with diligence and responsibility,” the statement concluded.
The Council of State serves as a key advisory body to the President, offering guidance on national governance and development policies.
