A day to the much-anticipated Ghana vs Nigeria match, Ghanaian midfielder Edmund Addo has become the centre of attention.
News circulating on social media platform Twitter is that Edmund Addo, a part of the Black Stars Squad to face the Super Eagles, is injured.
According to sports journalist @SaddickAdams, the midfielder has been ruled out of the Friday game at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
However, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and head coach Otoo Addo are yet to confirm the claim.
Already, Ghanaians on Twitter have expressed worry.
They questioned how head coach Otoo Addo could not have known the health status of Edmund Addo before listing him.
They have been asking who would replace the FC Sherif-Moldova player should he be injured.
Others have already started making suggestions.
The names include Majeed Ashimeru, Mudasiru Salifu of Kotoko, Hearts of Oak's Abdul Aziz Nurudeen, Alfred Duncan, Razak Kasim of Accra Great Olympics.
On Majeed Ashimeru, former captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah Gyan expressed dissatisfaction with the GFA, adding that Ashimeru, whom he sees as one of Ghana’s best midfielders, should not have been left out of the list.
