The Police say it has restored calm at Bator in the Volta Region after a violent chieftaincy dispute that resulted in the death of five people and injury to others.
The Service has also arrested 15 suspects for their involvement in the clash.
This was made known in a press release issued by the Police on Saturday, December 17.

The statement added that “The Police have so far retrieved two locally manufactured single barrel guns, one locally manufactured pistol and one live BB cartridge from the suspects.”
According to the release, the victims are currently receiving treatment at Bator Government Hospital.
“The injured victims are responding to treatment while the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Bator Government Hospital morgue for autopsy and preservation,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, security has also been beefed up within the township.
“Security has since been beefed up within the Bator township and surrounding communities,” the Police statement said.
